Spring Signs

"I've found a bud too!" Boo told the others. "Come and look!"

And there he showed them a tiny white crocus in bud. They found several more in the grass too.

"Over here!" WalkerBear shouted. "I've found real flowers - not just buds!"

They all huddled round WalkerBear to see that he had found groups of small, white snowdrops, their flowers on slender stalks which seemed to have bent over trying to hold their weight.

Then Edward called out. "I've found a pretty flower in this pot!" he shouted.

It was a lovely, purple-coloured flower called a Hellebore - their easier name is the Lenten Rose. They seem rather delicate but can obviously survive in the cold - the bears are not sure they could live outside at this time of the year! Brrr!
