The ethos of our website is to tempt children away from the technology of today, with its computer games, mobile phones and a TV in every child's bedroom, and encourage them to expand their knowledge and experience of the natural world and life away from technology through games and activities, on their own or with friends or grown-ups, with the appropriate supervision from their parents or other adults.

You will notice that some of the words used in the stories may be a little outside your child's reading ability but this has been done deliberately to stretch their vocabulary and encourage your participation in the reading process. There will also be an audio option on each story so that your child (and you) can listen along as well.

There are ideas for everything from crafts and cooking to exploring the great outdoors. Don't miss any opportunity to turn off the TV, and the computer games, and go and enjoy other things and help them learn about nature, playing outside, making things, trying out new ideas and challenges, and generally enjoying their childhood.

There will be suggestions in the stories which you can use as a 'starter for 10' to point you in the direction of something new to try. If all these teddy bears can have this much fun, just think how much you will be able to get out of it!!
