The Snow Moon
The February Full Moon
A Read-Along Activity
Did you see it?!? Did you see it?!?
Did you see the Snow Moon at the weekend? The bears were allowed to stay up late so that they could, but the moon would rise early enough so that they could see it in daylight (just!) too!
They had read all about the fact that the Moon was going to look extra special over the weekend because it would be a very bright Full Moon.
They looked out the window during the late afternoon, and could just see a big, round moon in a beautiful pale blue sky. Although it looked very nice, it didn't seem very bright.
But as night began to fall and it got darker and darker outside, they could tell, before they even went outside, that something different was going on, because indoors, with the curtains drawn across the windows, with the moon shining in, it was nearly as light as daytime!!
They were very excited to be allowed to go outside late at night (well, late from their point of view, because teddy bears usually go to bed very early, especially the little ones).
They were so surprised!
They stood outside for a long time, watching the Moon and seeing how far they could see by its light. Bubbles took loads of pictures too - the bears took their hats off so that you can see the moonlight shining on their fur! They were pleased they would have pictures to look back on because it looked so gorgeous!
Despite liking watching the moon outside, the bears were happy to come back indoors to drink their hot chocolate before they went to bed. And they peeked through the curtains before they fell asleep, just to make sure the moon was still there!
