Letter To Santa
Writing To Santa
A Read-Along Activity
It's that time of the year again! The time when the bears write their letters to Santa asking what presents they would like for Christmas. This year they have to post them by Friday, 6th December, and then Santa has promised he will write back to them!!
Last year they received lots of lovely presents, some they had asked for, and some they hadn't mentioned, but they were all great presents! Sometimes someone (mentioning no names, Crackers!) asks for something the rest of them might think is rather funny, but as long as it is something that each of them wants, then that is fine with the rest of the bears.
This year they decided they would write just one letter from all of them, and they would ask for things that they would all like to share. This time Crackers was very sensible and asked for a huge jigsaw that they could all help to put together. Tommy wanted a big basket of sweeties and chocolates which they could all join in and eat!
They asked for lots more birdfood, to share out amongst all the birds that visit their garden. The birds eat quite a lot!! And still some birds are really tiny, like the wren the bears saw in the flower bed, or the blue tits which love the peanuts the bears put out for them.
The bears also asked for some films on dvd, especially the cartoon ones which they all like to watch. And then Boo decided to ask for a big bag of popcorn as well, so that they could eat that whilst they watched the films!
They also asked for lots of packets of seeds, so they could grow some new vegetables in their garden next year. This year they had so much lovely food which they had grown themselves (with some help from their friends) - tomatoes, lettuce, onions, strawberries, runner beans, peas, French beans, potatoes, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants - the list goes on and on and it was all so yummy! They will all help to plant them, and then they will all help to eat them!! They might ask for some flower seeds as well so they can have pretty, colourful flowers to look at in the garden, and to cut and bring inside the house.
They had to remember to put their names and address in their letter so that Santa would know where to write back. They sealed their letter up in an envelope and addressed it to Santa, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ, just as it shows in the picture. Then they stuck a stamp on the envelope.
They all walked to the postbox up the road, only to find that none of them could reach high enough to post their letter!! Oh no! How were they going to send their letter now?
Then Boo had an idea! He told Crackers to climb on his shoulders, and then Custard climbed on to Crackers' shoulders, and then he was tall enough to reach the opening in the postbox. He pushed the envelope through - it was a very big envelope for such a little bear - and their letter was soon on its way to Santa.
Have you sent your letters to Santa yet? Hurry up and make sure you post your letters by Friday, 6th December!
