In The Garden
A Tour Of The Garden
A Read-Along Activity
The weather has been really hot and sunny so the teddy bears have been able to spend most of their time outside in the garden. Some of their pals have been staying with them for a few days so the bears gave Oscar, Alfred and Gerry a tour of the flowers, fruit and vegetables which they grow.
First they checked out the salad trough which they planted a short while ago.
Then they went to look at the strawberries which they have been growing for quite a while - long enough that they have had several yummy bowlfuls of strawberries and cream for their teas!
Oscar checked out the bed the bears have for their peas and beans, and helped to pick the pea pods.
The bears also showed their pals the flowers which they grow. They have a lovely rose bush with beautiful yellowy-peachy roses on it. Oscar simply had to get really close and smell its perfume! He said it was gorgeous!
They also have several hanging baskets containing lots of colourful little flowers. Because they hang up high in the air, the little bears had to have a helping hand from the bigger bears to let them get really close to the flowers and see how pretty they really are.
By the time they'd walked all the way round the garden, they were ready for a nice glass of lemonade and some cake. Yum, yum.
If you have any space in your garden, perhaps you could ask if you could plant some flowers and vegetables. Strawberry plants last for several years, but peas and beans have to be grown from seed each year. Roses will last for years and years, but hanging baskets will need planting up every year. And all of them will need to be looked after, and watered regularly, but it is well worth the effort. Enjoy your garden!!
