Happy New Year
Resolutions And Fun
A Read-Along Activity
It's the end of another year. But how would the teddy bears celebrate New Year's Eve this year?
Obviously, they are all much too little to be staying up till after midnight (teddy bears need their beauty sleep you know!) So they decided to start their celebrations a bit earlier, so they could still go to bed at their usual time, they would just pretend that it was nearly midnight!
A few minutes before their usual bedtime, they started their countdown from 10 to 1, then they donned party hats (from leftover Christmas crackers), wrapped up warm in their scarves, and ventured outside (it was a bit cold!) where Jane lit some sparklers for them (again, leftover sparklers from Bonfire Night) and they waved them around and watched them sparkle whilst they ushered in the New Year!
They didn't stay outside long, and when they came back inside thay had hot chocolate with marshmallows in it and big slices of yummy Christmas cake! That warmed them up!
During the day they had written their New Year's Resolutions - things they want to accomplish during the coming year. These covered things such as planning what healthy fruit and vegetables they want to grow in their garden.
Just before their New Year's Eve celebrations they went round one by one saying what had been the highlight of the old year for them. Some picked on something they had done on holiday, like paddling in the nice, warm sea, or somewhere they had visited, like their walk through the bluebell wood earlier this year.
After such a busy day, and celebrating the coming of a brand new year, the teddy bears fell into bed and were asleep as soon as their heads touched their pillows!! Happy New Year!
