Camping Fun

The weather has been really warm and dry recently so, today, the teddy bears planned to put up their tent in the garden and have fun out of doors all day.

Unfortunately, big, black clouds gathered and soon it was pouring with rain and all their plans were spoiled - bears don't like getting wet, you see. It makes their fur very soggy!

They weren't very happy until Crackers had an idea!! "What if we put up our tent indoors?" he asked. They couldn't hammer tent pegs into the carpet of course, and there wasn't as much room inside as there was in the garden.

So, they put a very large blanket over the dining table, so that it hung right over the edges and down to the floor.

They tied back one of the ends so they could get in and out easily, and then they covered the floor under the table inside their tent with lots and lots of cushions so that it was very comfortable to sit in

They played all sorts of games in their indoor tent during the day. Some of them sat and chatted. Bubbles read them a story.

They had a picnic lunch inside their tent, as well as chocolate and sweeties to eat. They listened to the radio and sang along with all the songs they knew. In the evening they gathered round their campfire (they covered the fronts of their torches with red and yellow tissue paper, so it looked like they had a campfire) and sang campfire songs and told ghost stories (which were a little bit scary…..not you, Scary!) They pretended to toast marshmallows over the campfire - they were just as delicious to eat, even though they weren't very hot!

But the very best thing was that they were allowed to sleep in it all night as well! They really had a great time!!

Perhaps you could ask permission to set up a tent indoors, and even be allowed to sleep in it overnight - what a lot of fun that would be!
