Bonfire Night 2020
Going To A Big Bonfire Party
A Read-Along Activity
The bears were going to go to the big, local, organised Bonfire Party this year. Their friends came round to go with them, and then they would come back afterwards for hot chocolate and something to eat.
They made some gingerbread dough but argued about what shapes to cut it into. Edward wanted pumpkins, James wanted bats and Bubbles wanted ghosts - it's obviously not too long since Hallowe'en and they were still thinking about that! Scary wanted stars because they would be like sparklers. All very good ideas but, unfortunately, they didn't have any cutters to make any of those shapes! They will really have to do something about that for next year.
Instead, they cut out tree shapes (yes, they're really Christmas trees, but they decided that wouldn't matter - they were still made of gingerbread!) They all had a go at icing and decorating them - which meant that some of them looked very funny when they were finished with very squiggly lines and missing bits - but with surprisingly few nibbles taken out of them!
Then they all dressed in warm clothes and put on their hi-vis jackets for their walk to the Bonfire Party. They paired up and formed themselves into a crocodile (that's a way of walking in twos, one behind the other so that they all followed the leader).
The bonfire was HUGE! When the adult in charge set it alight, the flames leapt up into the sky.
There was a beautiful firework display with lots of different coloured lights in the sky.
Back at home, the bears had mugs of hot chocolate with little marshmallows floating on top, and ate ALL the gingerbread biscuits. They were very yummy!
