Bath Time

The weather was very hot and sunny last week, so hot the teddy bears didn't know how to cool down! Until Scary came up with a really good idea! "How about if we make a paddling pool to play in?" he asked. "That will cool us off!"

They could only find a small plastic bowl but it was probably just the right size for teddy bears, and put it outside in the yard, and then they added some deliciously cool water. Boo leant over the side and tested the temperature first. "Perfect" he declared.

Then Bubbles and Teddy jumped in and sighed with pleasure when their hot paws touched the cool water. Everyone was jumping in and splashing about. They had great fun cooling off!

Then Scary suggested it might be a good time for all good teddy bears to take a bath! Well, I'm sure you know that teddy bears and baths really don't mix well and all the other bears shouted in horror at his idea!

"Come on," he cajoled. "I'll get some nice, warm water and some bubble bath, and afterwards you'll be able to lie in the sun and dry yourselves. There might even be an ice cream in it for you" he continued.

Well, the bears don't normally like to get all cold and wet in a bath, but they were already wet and this idea was beginning to grow on them, given how hot the sun was making them feel.

Maybe it was the idea of playing with the bubbles, or the sitting in the sun eating ice cream which finally made up their minds.

"OK, then," they said. "Let's do it!" Scary filled the bowl with warm water and splashed in some bubble bath which made lots of bubbles. Scary had to bathe on his own as there just wasn't enough room for anyone else in the bowl at the same time. He enjoyed having a bath all to himself!

Then Bubbles and Teddy shared the bowl, and then the rest of the bears splished and splashed about, and they all got covered in bubbles (not you, Bubbles!) In fact, it was so much fun that they had forgotten that they were actually having baths!

Just before they were too wet and cold, they wrapped themselves in warm, fluffy towels, and then spread out on the garden bench to dry. Scary went indoors and came back with loads of ice lollies - they were yummy!

Perhaps your teddy bears would enjoy a bath-time too! Make sure it is a very warm day, and make sure there are lots of bubbles to play in and they dry off really well in the sunshine afterwards - nobody likes a damp teddy bear! Oh - and, of course, there must be ice creams afterwards!!
